MTN Launch Data Calculator To Help Users Calculate Their Data Usage

MTN NG has rolled out their own Data Calculator service to help subscribers calculate their monthly data estimate.
Don't forget that Glo launched theirs few days ago, that also works the same.

With Data calculator, you can now run an estimate of data volume that can be used in a month.

MTN Data calculator is a free service that lets you calculate the amount of data you need in a month for surfing the web, streaming HD and non-HD videos, streaming music, downloads and many more online activities. According to MTN, they estimated that Surfing the web for 1 minute equals to 1 MB, using social media for 1 minute and posting to social media equals to 4 MB, sending & receiving emails — 1 email (with no attachments) equals to 20 KB, while 1 email (with standard attachments) equals to 300 KB, streaming music for 1 minute equals to 2 MB, streaming non-HD video for 1 minute equals to 4 MB, streaming HD video for 1 minute equals to 15 MB.

MTN data calculator also allows you determine — the total volume of data need to use social media, browse websites, download music, stream videos etc within a month.

How To Use MTN Data Calculator

  1. First visit MTN Data Calculator page here.
  2. You will see several options of data usage medium including surfing the web, use social media, sending emails, streaming HD & non-HD videos, streaming music etc.
  3. Now, to calculate the estimated data volume, slide the circle icon from left to right. You will see the minutes per day by the right and the estimated data for a month below.
  4. Assuming you use social media for 30 minutes and surf the web for 30 minutes per day, MTN estimated that you need a data volume of 4.3GB for a month. 
  5. You can drag the icon further to see more estimates. There are also more options as you scroll down.
This very good development for MTN users we really think it will do many glo subscribers good in terms of using their data.
