WhatsApp Pay Allows You To Send And Receive Money

Hello guys, WhatsApp finally launch its mobile payment system, this means you can send and receive money from friends and family.
Just like that of Paypal or Payoneer but WhatsApp promised to make it easier as it is to sending a text message.

The feature is currently being tested in India, even since last year but Mark Zuckerberg – the founder of one of the biggest social media Facebook, plans to launch it fully in the country and other countries this year.

What is WhatsApp Payments?

This is the peer-to-peer payment option. Hence, you can’t use this for merchant payments.

It is UPI based platform. The money will be directly credited to recipient’s bank account.

Also, as you are sending money to WhatsApp user who has linked his phone number with the bank account and UPI, there is no need to enter the VPA (Virtual Payments Address) or bank account number or IFSC code.

Who can use WhatsApp Payments?

  1. You must have WhatsApp app on your phone.
  2. Both sender and receiver should be running the latest WhatsApp version as well as have WhatsApp Payments option enabled.
  3. WhatsApp number should be same as your mobile number linked to your bank account with UPI option support as well.
This is how exactly the feature is said to work. Users will be able to link their bank account to WhatsApp account through the help of UPI (Unified Payments Interface) and begin making payment to another user’s account through a WhatsApp chat.

The payment option will be placed near the camera icon and when a user clicked on it, they will see a list of banks on the screen.
A user can then select the one to which bank account is being linked and a user is required to verify it before sending the money.

What do you think about the whatsapp payment will it be better than Paypal and Payoneer?
